My name is Rebecca.

First, let me first tell you who I'm not:

  • I'm not a preacher or pastor
  • I'm not a degreed religious scholar (I have a degree, just not in religious studies.)
  • I'm not a church employee

Now I can tell you who I am:

  • I am a wife of over 20 years with a daughter that is in college

  • I am an IT professional working for the same company since 2002

  • I am a person that studies Scripture intently, intensely and consistently as a priority in my life

  • I am active in my church and a co-lead a Women's Bible Study group as well as work in the sound booth every other Sunday during worship

  • I love to create Scripture Art as a way to meditate on God's Word and worship God

  • I love to read and learn new things - especially things about God and how awesome He is

  • I love soothing art (like watercolor) and hand lettering (and combining the two, such as in the piece from which the website banner is taken)

Why write this blog?

I am literally on my 16th "Daily Bible Study" composition notebook. Each composition notebook is 100 pages long. That means 100 pages (or thereabouts) of writing front and back times 16 notebooks. And that's just so far, because I don't see myself stopping as I move forward in life. This "making daily time with God a priority in my life" thing has moved past just a habit. It's now a way of life. I can't imagine my life being lived any other way at this point.

Much of the content of these notebooks are "Deep Dives" into Scripture (using My method of Bible Study - C.L.A.S.S.). Much of the content is written prayer to God. There's a little Scripture Art thrown in but now I use watercolor journals or paint canvases instead of the Bible study notebooks.

This blog is me sharing some of those "Deep Dive" journals with the world. I don't do it lightly. And I've prayed about it a lot. I'm going to write the "Deep Dives" on a regular basis regardless of whether I'm going to share them with the world, since that's how I live now. I honestly feel God is calling me to do this -- so I'm answering that call.
